Two consecutive stormy weekends in October,

By fate, I walked into the century-old railway tunnel bicycle trail.

Sparsely populated, sometimes heavy rains like typhoons;

But there was no rain when entering the tunnel,

Walking into the snow tunnel of a century-old railway,

Entering different enchantments reminds people of the “Peacock King Sutra” which is specially guarded by enchantments.

Designer Wu Zhongxun said,

This design has been questioned since the first day.

The French Michele & Miquel Landscape Architectural Firm, co-sponsored by the same designers, boldly used a method unprecedented in Taiwan to deal with tunnels and bicycle lanes:

No asphalt is laid, no slopes are cut, and only steel bars are used from beginning to end to make an elevated grid lane, which is implemented throughout the entire line!

It is really like this. If you experience it personally, it seems that the original century-old railway has traveled through time and manifested into the current time and space.

That’s right, it’s like Komachi’s time machine reappearing!

Because the railway was abandoned at that time, after the cave entrance was sealed, without human interference, streams, animals and plants came in, tadpoles and shrimps swam in the water, and bats flew in in groups to roost.

If we follow the traditional method,

After filling the cave with asphalt cement and adding a layer of iron lining inside the cave, the water flow, creatures and old brick walls will all disappear.

I walked slowly from Mudan to the northbound direction of Sandiaoling,

You can overlook the Pingxi Line and Yilan Line of the Taiwan Railways in the distance,

The EMU3000 Ziqiang trains from Puyuma, Taroko, and Zhiqiang whizzed past each other. It can be seen that multiple types of trains are crossing each other.

They were amazed by the intricate and distinctive joints on Taiwan’s mountain walls.

The Sanzhao Tunnel is here. After Sandiaoling Station passes the Sandiaoling Tunnel on the other side of Keelung Creek, there is an abandoned tunnel entrance. The five characters “Sincerity Moves the World” are written on the plaque. This was the gateway to Shuangxi back then. The longest tunnel is the north entrance of the tunnel, although it is only about 110 meters.

The Chinese characters “Sincerity Moves Heaven and Earth” mentioned must be due to the difficulty of the excavation project, so these five characters were mentioned. “Sincerity Moves Heaven and Earth” was inscribed by Taiwan Governor Akashi Genjiro.

The Old Sandiaoling Tunnel is the second longest tunnel among the tunnels on the Yilan Line. The longest tunnel is the aforementioned Old Caoling Tunnel on the Yilan Line.

In the old single-track era, the Yilan Line Railway originally had two tunnels, Sanzhao and Sandiaoling. Among them, Sanzhao Tunnel was closer to Sandiaoling Station.
