“The Buddha Speaks of the Great Peacock King Portrait Mandala Ritual” records the virtues of Peacock King Peacock King. He rides on the golden Peacock King and sits on a white lotus or green lotus. The white lotus seat represents the original vow of compassion, and the green lotus seat It means surrender. The body has four arms. The first hand on the left holds an auspicious fruit, which represents gain; the second hand holds three or five peacock tails, which represents the end of disaster. The first hand on the right holds a lotus flower, which represents respect and love; the second hand on the right holds the fruit of coexistence, which represents subjugation.

“Peacock Myōng Mandala” is based on the “Peacock Sutra Mandala” of Japan’s Matsuo Temple, and is created based on the virtues and appearances of Peacock Myōng described in “The Buddha Says the Great Peacock Myōng Portrait Mandala”,< /p>

After three years of preparation, during the painting process, with firm faith and the support of good teachers, we passed through one difficult hurdle after another, and finally fulfilled our good wish to inherit the Dharma image!

I pray that through this frame of solemn dharma, the extraordinary merits of King Peacock will be widely proclaimed, and that all sentient beings will believe in, understand and perform the vows, and that all poisons, disasters and fears will be eliminated, all diseases will be eliminated, and auspicious scenes will be achieved day and night! 】

The warm and beautiful night when Karma met Master Ciding and Master Yuding

I met Master Ciding and Master Yuding by fate:

Have you ever asked Master Ci Ding about his original intention?

Why should we reproduce the Great Peacock Mingwang Sutra Mandala?

Just because Master Ci Ding has a voice in his heart:

“I have always hoped to have a Peacock Sutra mandala for teaching the Dharma”!

Just because the original version has been unclear for hundreds of years,

But you still can’t find the right person to draw?

In addition, there are many saints and ritual instruments that have been preserved in history, and it is difficult to study them. Painters from all over the world have not yet found an object that can be completed, and they also hope to have a Peacock King Mandala that belongs to Taiwan.

More than 20 years ago, Master Ciding said that his wish was to reproduce the Matsuo Temple version of the Matsuo Myoyo Sutra mandala in Japan;

“I have always wanted to have a Peacock King Sutra mandala for teaching the Dharma.” So Master said that Teacher Yuding has fulfilled his dream!

The Vow Power of the Great Peacock King Ming of Buddha

May the world always be peaceful   may blessings and wisdom be brought to all living beings

Eliminate all sins   stay away from all suffering and return to nirvana

All sentient beings believe in understanding and practice vows,

Eliminate all poison, disaster and fear,

Eliminate all diseases and achieve auspicious scenery day and night

May you overcome one difficult hurdle after another!

Master Ciding came up with the idea more than 20 years ago;

In the first year of the journey, Teacher Yuding concentrated on reciting the “Peacock King Sutra” and the “Peacock King Mantra”;

In the second year, Zhengxing only devoted two years to drawing the “Buddha Mother Great Peacock Mingwang Sutra Mandala”;

It took three years for the “Buddha Mother Great Peacock Mingwang Sutra Mandala” to be clearly displayed.

What is a mandala?

It is a mandala, which means “a place of enlightenment”,

Therefore, mandala is also regarded as a mandala, and the meaning of collection means that it is full of wheel gardens, which means to accumulate essence and radiate light, just like the collection of the entire universe.

The original Peacock Meiou Mandala of Matsuoji Temple in Osaka is reproduced as shown below.

Special exhibition of Peacock King Mandala and Jade Cauldron Buddhist Paintings during the Chinese New Year

It is as small as a mandala, as medium as a dojo, and as large as a solemn and complete display of the Dharma Realm.

In the center is the Great Peacock King Ming Buddha, surrounded by seven Buddhas of the past, present and future: representing all the Buddhas in the ten directions and three times, multiple mandalas form an endless Dharma Realm

From the inside to the outside of the mandala, the main deities in order are Peacock Ming King, Seven Buddhas and One Bodhisattva, Sravaka Pratyekabuddha, Heavenly Kings, Twenty-Eight Yakshas, Twenty-Eight Constellations, Nine Lumins, and Twelve Palaces. There are one hundred and fifty-one statues, as if the entire universe of law is contained within them.

It represents the highest wisdom and solemn state of all Buddhas in the ten directions and three times.

According to <<Buddha’s Great Peacock King Ming’s Portrait Mandala Ritual>>,

The center of the inner courtyard is painted with an eight-leaf scroll,

The mother Buddha, the Great Peacock King Ming, is in Lianhua’s womb, surrounded by seven Buddhas and the Bodhisattva Cishi.

Outside the lotus in the inner courtyard, there are four paintings in the four directions of the inner courtyard.Pratyekabuddha, and four paintings of the four great hearing voices, and the third painting of the eight heavenly kings and their retinues.

The third hospital is right-handed on Tuesday, the 18th Yaksa and the 12th Palace God of Su Yao.

This great mandala includes the womb realm, the “original awareness” of all living beings, and the “initial awareness” of the vajra realm.

Tantrayana practice involves the visualization of various circular symbolic mandalas.

Especially the understanding of the right view of emptiness and bodhicitta,

The purpose is to achieve enlightenment and self-awareness,

To help everyone we can.

Thus, we also understand the importance of Maurya Sutra mandala to Maurya Dharma.

Inadvertently browsing the Kaicheng Villa of King Kong Ming:

The following Internet excerpt

[Peacock Mingwang Temple will hold a Spring Festival blessing ceremony on the first day of the first lunar month of the Guimao year, and will publicly display the “Peacock Mingwang Mandala” collected in the secret altar for the first time… 】

Being attracted by browsing on the Internet,

Take advantage of the last Sunday of the exhibition, January 29th,

Yilan Kaicheng Villa became acquainted with Teacher Yuding,

Although the conversation only lasted five minutes.

The teacher liked to copy and draw Buddha statues when he was five years old.

After being discharged from the army, I met the Tibetan Buddhist master Karmapa in a vegetarian cultural relics shop.

Ask the Karmapa for advice on work issues,

His Holiness informed Teacher Yuding that he wanted to paint Buddha statues,

I also visited Bodh Gaya for a month to paint Buddha statues,

After that, Teacher Yuding regarded painting Buddha statues as his career,

He also began to teach students how to paint Buddha statues.

Painting Buddha statues should be Teacher Yuding’s talent and mission!

“The Peacock Sutra Mandala” of Matsuo Temple in Japan was used as a reference blueprint, which should be because the painting image at that time was completely unclear

For a period of time, Teacher Yuding felt that the level of painting had reached a bottleneck, and she felt unmotivated and uninspired.

Teacher Yuding painted the first portrait of King Peacock in 2014,

The special relationship with Peacock King Ming begins.

At that time, I hoped to break through and explore new areas of creation,

During a conversation with a good teacher, the other person suggested that he could draw Peacock King. This is also the origin of the teacher and Peacock King.

Peacock Myeong’s induction and protection made the Peacock Myeong Mandala based on the “Peacock Sutra Mandala” of Matsuo Temple in Japan. It can be displayed solemnly and clearly according to the <<Buddha said the Great Peacock King Ming’s portrait mandala ritual

The center of the inner courtyard is painted with an eight-leaf lotus flower.
The lotus has a womb of the Buddha Mother, the Great Peacock King Ming, surrounded by seven Buddhas and the Bodhisattva Cishi.

The Karma website searched for Kaicheng Villa in Yilan and got acquainted with Master Ciding.

Because I wanted to hold an art exhibition at that time, I had to apply for a venue in Kaicheng Courtyard, so I placed an order there and held a solo exhibition.

Teacher Yuding is very grateful to Master Ciding for giving two rooms to use;

Relax and create at the same time.

At the same time, it also gives a lot of space for drawing and creation,

There is no mandatory requirement to comply with the work and rest regulations and hours of other hospitals,

As a result, I have been keeping orders here for two and a half years.

Ci Dingshi’s great wish is to reproduce the “Peacock King Mandala” in his lifetime. He used the “Peacock Sutra Mandala” of Matsuo Temple in Japan as a reference blueprint. It should be because the painting image at that time was completely unclear.< /p>

Because after hundreds of years, the 157 statues of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and their magical instruments are very unclear. As shown in the attached picture.

Gu Yun’s army has not moved, but food and grass have gone first;

Due to the desire to reproduce the “Peacock King Mandala”,

Master Ciding has already completed the data query on all the names, statues, and instruments of the 157 Bodhisattva statues in the Tripitaka in advance.

The altar in Kaicheng Temple follows the <<Buddha Says the Great Peacock King Ming’s Portrait Mandala Ritual>>, in the inner courtyard In the center is an eight-leaf continuous flower,
with the Buddha Mother, the Great Peacock King Ming, surrounded by seven Buddhas and Cishi Bodhisattva.

Why did Master Ciding choose the version from Matsuoji Temple in Japan?

Because there are other mandala versions in order to show the 3D effect of the icon, the mandala image appears with some of the icons reversed,

The presentation effect is not so pleasing to the eye.

Therefore, it is determined that the Japanese Matsuoji version of the mandala is the best version.

Master Ci Ding once asked nearly two dozen people whether they could draw the “Peacock King Sutra Mandala”, but the answer they received was that it was not feasible!

But in the first year when Teacher Yuding came to Kaicheng Villa, he invited Teacher Yuding to draw the Peacock Sutra Mandala;

Teacher Yuding found it difficult at first glance,

Response impossible.

The second year I invited Teacher Yuding to draw it, but Teacher Yuding said it was impossible.

Just because the teacher believed in painting Buddha statues all year round,

They are mainly single statues;

And the Peacock King Mandala with so many Buddhas and Pusa is really a big challenge.

Invite Teacher Yuding to draw again in the third year;

At that moment, a volunteer brother beat the drum and told Teacher Yuding, “No need to refuse, it’s you!”

Teacher Yuding also felt unparalleled confidence inexplicably.

Teacher Yuding before drawing the Peacock King Mandala,

During this period of more than two years of pending orders in other hospitals, whenever a bottleneck was anticipated in the drawing,

We will go to the main hall on 3F to ask for the corresponding protection from King Peacock Ming,

Especially when there is a painting of Green Tara;

Please pray to King Peacock Ming to chant sutras and recite mantras to ask for corresponding protection.

Confidence and consciousness will feel a wonderful power,

One level is passed, sometimes it is difficult to pass it

More than two years have passed, and Teacher Yuding deeply feels that he is protected by King Peacock Ming.

It takes about three hours to complete the chanting and upholding of the Peacock Ming King Sutra,
the blessing of united merits lasts for more than nine months .
Picture from Teacher Yuding

In addition to Master Ciding, one hundred and fifty-seven holy images of Bodhisattva have been included in the Tripitaka.

The data query for all names, images, and instruments has been completed.

There will be a series of good deeds that follow.

It took Teacher Yuding three years to complete the drawing of the mandala,

I spent another year on homework,

The Master also intensified the chanting and called on volunteers to practice and chant together every Thursday morning, dedicating the merits to the drawing of the mandala.

It takes about three hours to complete the chanting and chanting of the Peacock Ming King Sutra,
the blessing of united merit and power lasts for more than nine months .

Because the existing mandala images are not clear, some only have the ritual objects as the main objects and the images of the Dharma are not clear,

So I recite the Sutra of the Peacock King a thousand times and the millions of mantras to ask for corresponding protection.

Teacher Yuding recited it forty-nine times for seven or eight months;

All the masters of the Kaicheng Academy recited it one hundred and eight times for nine months;

Master Ciding recited it personally one hundred and eight times for nine months;

It took almost a year to complete. In addition to my sincerity, I also hope that the Peacock King Mandala can be displayed clearly and perfectly!

It takes about three hours to complete the chanting and chanting of the Maurya King Sutra,

The blessings of Qixin Gongdeli lasted for more than nine months. During this period, we also learned about the content of the mandala, and opened a separate hospital to prepare the information collected over the years, so that Teacher Yuding can enter the mandala more smoothly. The world of Tulu!

Teacher Yuding once asked Master Ciding how to draw a mandala well?

Master Ciding answered:

(1) Be kind (2) Dance (3) Be at ease

It sounds easy at first, but in fact it is very difficult!

That is, the Peacock King Mandala will appear lifelike and fascinating.

Because the Peacock King Sutra mandala also represents the ten dharma realms,

It also means the presentation of the universe,

It is very difficult to dance in harmony without being chaotic.

The Vow Power of the Great Peacock King Ming of Buddha

May the world always be peaceful

Boundless blessings and wisdom to benefit all living beings

Eliminate all sins

Stay away from all suffering and return to nirvana

The article is divided into two parts to share,
