Stone Umbrella SUP Experience
Stone Umbrella is located between Baxian Cave and Sanxiantai, approximately 102 kilometers away from Provincial Highway 11. The 1-kilometer-long promontory extends from the coast to the sea and is a sea-eroded terrain of limestone uplift. There used to be several sea-eroded rock pillars shaped like umbrellas on the shore of the promontory, but now only one is left standing alone. It looks like an umbrella, so it is called the Stone Umbrella.
Stone Umbrella is actually a kind of balanced rock, consisting of two rocks stacked up and down. The upper part is harder coral reef rock, and the lower part is softer conglomerate. It has been eroded by wind and rain over the years, because the hardness of the upper and lower rocks is different. The degree of erosion is also different. The result of long-term accumulation is that it looks thin at the bottom and wide at the top, like an open umbrella.
In addition to stone umbrellas, there are also rich sea erosion landscapes such as sea erosion gates and pot holes on the promontory, which are of great ornamental value. Visitors can look at them from the pavilion, watch them carefully, and listen to the sound of the waves, which is a unique experience.
There is a wooden boardwalk next to the Stone Umbrella Viewing Pavilion. Standing in Xiaowanao with clear water, the Stone Umbrella seen from here looks like it is standing on a whale.

Mawu Ku River is the river with the largest drainage area and longest length on the east coast of Taiwan Province. After Taiyuan Valley, go to the sea at the famous Donghe Bridge Scenic Area.
Introduction to geography
The source of the Nanxi tributary is located in the copper mining tribe in Shangde Village. The copper mine is located on the west side of Dulan Mountain and about seven miles east of it, which happens to be the sapphire producing area in Taitung. It is understood that during the Japanese occupation, the Japanese government began to mine copper and sapphire in copper mining tribes. After Taiwan was restored to independence, private investment continued to mine. It was not until the 1960s that it gradually became indifferent due to the difficulty of finding outcrop mineral veins. There are also several good picking spots in the lower reaches of the Mawu Ku River after the North and South Streams merge, and the jade produced is a combination of the types of jade from the North and South Streams.

We set off from downtown Taitung at 2:30 this morning. We arrived early and met the lovely coaches Agen and Afei. Because we didn’t know anything about it for the first time, Afei was very patient in introducing us.< /p>
When we arrived at Shiyu Umbrella, A Fei first taught us how to use the canoe correctly, and the explanation was very careful and interesting.
After practice, I went out to sea to watch the sunrise, but because I was seasick and wanted to vomit, Ah Fei quickly took me to the beach and floated on the water. The feeling of vomiting disappeared immediately, and I also experienced sea mud facial massage and diving. Only my husband Diving^^
I originally wanted to try diving, but I was so scared that I almost cried. Fortunately, Coach Agen protected me with his professionalism and told me not to force myself. He also escorted me safely. I am really grateful to Agen
p>Boss Mi Zhu is kind-hearted and loves his family. I appreciate his education for his children and his care for the tribe. I must experience the Ami activities with Mi Zhu again if I have the opportunity.
Next time I come to Taitung, I will look for fudin cafe.
The instructor is very experienced and will patiently guide and teach the canoe decomposition movements. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, which is a great experience. The children were a little nervous at first, but the coach used a positive and encouraging tone and gradually made the children willing to try it😊 It was so fun to apply volcanic mud on their faces! Then he led us up to the nearby rocks and explained the topography of the stone umbrella! Thank you very much to Hualien Bears, Grizzlies Coach and Coach Agan for their leadership, allowing our family to have such a wonderful experience🤩☺️
