The former office of the “Hualien Harbor Army Affairs Department,”

Built in the latter part of World War II, in 1942.

Connected by a pine forest with the nearby “Broadcasting Station” (established May 1, 1944, now the Zhongguang Company Hualien Station), “Coastal Radio Station”, and the water treatment plant (Meilun Water Purification Plant).

The pine forest pushes the noisy worldly dust further and further away.

 

Overlooking the Meilun River estuary at North Beach,
