[Jiufen Night Tour]

[Night tour of Jiufen Gold Mine Museum]

Jiufen night tour is a wonderful experience for tourists visiting or staying in Jiufen.

I often hear friends who come to participate say:

“My friend came here last time and recommended that I must come and participate when I come to Jiufen!”

Everything happened because I went to eat at Jiufen Stone Monument 23,

Only when you get to know Boss Shao can you get to know the curator,

Only you have the opportunity to take a night tour of Jiufen Museum!

I originally wanted to take four children with me, but I was worried that the children would be too tired to finish the trip after more than 3 hours, but later I realized that I was thinking too much.

In the evening, light shines through the clouds, and a faint golden color renders Jiufen and Jinguashi. As the sky gradually darkened, the red lanterns were lit one by one, and the crowds gradually dispersed.

When night falls, the other side of the mountain city will be revealed. Different from the bustle during the day, Jiufen at night has a quiet and mysterious atmosphere. Looking from the direction of Shen’ao Fishing Port or Chaojing Park, surrounded by golden lights, the mountain city shines like gold! But from this direction, you can only see Jiufen, not Jinguashi.

The current gathering place for the event is Jinshan Rock on Jishan Street.

Please refer to Jinshanyan: https://m.facebook.com/ story.php?story_fbid=395381688522929&id=106670230727411&mibextid=Nif5oz

Gather at the entrance of Jinshanyan at 8pm, and the night tour will begin. The tour guide is the niece of the curator of the Gold Mine Museum. We followed her footsteps and walked along the light road. On the way, we passed through many alleys that most people would never take when coming to Jiufen. All the way from Jinshan Yanjishan Street Downhill to light road.

The special streets in Jiufen are three horizontal and one vertical, namely Jishan Street, light road and automobile road.

All alleys are connected to each other, but when all the alleys are connected to each other?

The reason why alleys and alleys are interconnected is that

This is because Jiufen had a large population during the gold mining period. In order to avoid the crowds on the main roads – Jishan Street, Qingbian Road, Auto Road and Shuqi Road, residents built many buildings between houses. “Chuangwu Alley” forms a special landscape in this area. Among them, there are many beautiful ancient houses and Western-style buildings in Chuanwu Alley.

When I went to Jiufen before, I rarely knew about the light road. But recently I learned that the light road is a beautiful road in Jiufen.

Arrived at the secret viewing platform on the light road, you can take a look at the night view of Jiufen Mountain City; the most beautiful one is the sea of golden lights accompanied by the slightly shining and beautiful Keelung Mountain shape!

We arrived at the end of the light road. Recently, a new viewing platform was added here. The niece of the curator said that there are not enough lights on weekdays, but once the lively weekends come, you will see a whole field of golden lights that is very romantic. It is so beautiful that I took many pictures with my mobile phone.

「Coming to Jiufen is not just about eating and drinking, there is also a lot of history and culture worth learning about. Many people come to Jiufen only to eat taro balls. Taro balls are not grown here, so where do the taro balls come from?”

It is true that taro balls are just the tip of the iceberg for tourists. However, due to extensive media reports, the outside world’s impression of Jiufen is only a delicacy and snacks, ignoring the rich history of gold mining in the past.

So the end point of the night tour will be: “Jiufen Gold Mine Museum”, which is no less than the Jinguashi Gold Mine Museum.

This “Jiufen Gold Mine Museum” is located next to Jiufen Old Street. It doesn’t look like a museum from the outside. It is actually an ancestral home left by the older generation. It is run by an old miner who has been working in gold mining for more than 30 years. Founded by “Mr. Zeng Chi”, after the mining stopped, he was afraid that the brilliant technology and history would disappear, so he founded the museum and actively wanted to share the history of gold mining with future generations. It has been passed down to his son, granddaughter and grandson. They chose to keep it The reason for being in my hometown is simple: “Because no one talks about it, so if we don’t talk about it, no one will talk about it in Jiufen.” And this is the only gold mining museum in Jiufen that has been passed down to this day.

This kind of original intention is really like Jinguashi Cultural Relics Museum, and I will share it with everyone if I have the opportunity.

Coming to the “Experience Zone” on the second floor, you will have the opportunity to personally touch the tools used to obtain gold at that time. These seemingly simple tools have a history of nearly a hundred years! Look at how the old miners used existing tools and simple physical principles (the principle of specific gravity) to turn stones into gold without advanced high technology at that time.

The gold particles in Jinguashi that everyone is familiar with are relatively fine, so they cannot be obtained using this set of tools and principles. In other words, this “gold panning system” can only be seen in Jiufen! After watching the gold panning process, in addition to realizing that mining gold is really hard work, each tool has its own story, and most of the tools presented in front of you are out-of-print antiques. I want to know more about Jiufen The story of the gold mine is waiting for you to come and listen to the curator’s narration in person!

The children stood in the front row in high spirits due to the wonderful explanation,

Learn what the school teacher didn’t teach you. Did you make a mistake and didn’t take it seriously in class?

The reason why history is interesting is that what happened in the past was so wonderful, and our modern mission is to pass it on.

If you have the opportunity to come to Jiufen, in addition to making tea and watching the night view, gather at the entrance of Jinshan Rock and follow the curator’s footsteps to get to know the local Jiufen. I believe that after listening to the tour guide, you will come here again next time It will be a new experience!

The night tour is very exciting,

The content covers everything from heaven and earth, from the history and geography of Jiufen to the history and geography of Taiwan…

1. Why are there so many Tuigong temples in Jiufen?

2. Why do you need to wear a coat when it is so hot in the mine?

3. Which Taiwanese artist’s hometown is actually Jiufen?

4. How to communicate if there is no radio in the mine?

5.Are the miners in Jiufen the same as the miners in Jinguashi?

Save some foreshadowing first and go there in person

Take a night tour of Jiufen Gold Mine Museum!
