FB suddenly popped up a historical review of the Yanzikou Trail in the National Park two years ago.
Recalling a period a few years ago, when self-media was very popular, Taiwan 20 South Crossing was not even on the page?
It was later discovered that the entire Nanheng line was interrupted due to Typhoon Morakot in 1998. No wonder neither FB nor IG could see the magnificent scenery of Nanheng.
Just like the disappearing Nanheng, due to the 4/3 Hualien earthquake,
The Taroko Shakadang and Yanzikou trails in the eastern section of Zhongheng have also been temporarily allowed by the mountain gods to recuperate and return to the embrace of nature. .
This also reminds people of the beautiful Lotus Pond Trail and Plum Garden Bamboo Village Trail in Taroko National Park.
Currently, it has returned to the mountains and forests due to the wind disaster,
but it always makes people dream. Haunted by dreams.
A kind of fate arises and ends, so when the fate arises, you know how to cherish and cherish it;
When the fate disappears, you don’t need to be sad and sentimental, or even have any resentment.
The subtleness of the cause and effect cannot be gone away, and what you seek cannot come. .
The Yanzikou and Jiuqudong trails in the eastern section of Zhongheng are relatively approachable and popular trails.
Taroko National Park Yanzikou Trail (2)
Yanzi Welcome
Along the Zhongheng Highway to Yanzikou, where the Liwuxi Canyon becomes narrower. From here, it extends westward to Cimu Bridge, which is the most popular section of the Liwuxi Canyon. The Yanzikou Trail runs from Yanzikou to Jinheng Bridge. On the way, you can enjoy the Taroko Gorge, Hu Cave, Yongquan, Indian Chief Rock and other landscapes.
You can take photos casually here. Because the backlight and the light difference are large, taking photos with backlight has a different aesthetic feeling. It is easy to take photos that are beautiful and famous on the Internet.
The Yanzikou Trail is on the old road, so it is very easy for travelers.
Because there are many small caves in the marble cliffs here that have been eroded by rivers and groundwater for a long time, swallows often build their nests here, forming the wonder of the “Hundred Swallows Valley”, so it is called “Swallow’s Mouth”.
If you want to continue walking forward after exiting the trail, you can reach Jin Heng Park, which was established in memory of Section Chief Jin Heng who unfortunately died in the construction project of the Zhongheng Highway. There are restrooms here, and there are still old roads and trails to follow along.
From the observation deck, you can also see the wonders in the Liwu Creek Canyon – the Indian El Capitan. From a distance, it looks like the profile of a portrait, even the eyes, nose, chin, and cheeks are sunken. You can see it clearly, and the green plants on the rocks look like Indians with feather crests. Once again, people can’t help but admire the magic of nature!
Indian heads can also be seen in Chenggong Town, Taitung.
I feel so close to my hometown,

Sharing of previous posts
Come to Hualien to share about the very high-quality Guild Hall B&B on Meilun Mountain in Hualien City, next to the Quiet Pine Garden Villa. Highly recommended!
