The broad mountain scenery of Dayuling section of Zhongheng Lishan

For the section from Wuling Farm to Lishan, please refer to the previous post

On the Central Cross-Island Highway from Lishan Hotel to Dayuling, there are few orchards like those commonly seen in the mountain tribes, and most of them are primitive forests.

The road from Shei-Pa National Park to Taroko National Park;
The Xueshan Mountains transform into the Central Mountain Range!
The road that connects Taichung Heping, Nantou Ren’ai, and Hualien Xiulin!

It is also a road close to home but full of nostalgia!
From Lishan to Dayuling,
head west to Tianxiang Hualien, and head south up Hehuan Mountain to Qingjing.
This section of the road passes through Shei-Pa National Park and Taroko National Park!
Although it seems to be well connected;
it still takes several hours to get there from Taipei, Hualien Tianxiang, Nantou Puli Cingjing. I remember only riding a motorcycle once since my student days, and rarely driving by.

Zhiyuan Village, located at the western boundary of Taroko National Park, is probably the least exposed boundary marker, quietly located in the Dayuling section of Lishan on the Central Cross-Island Highway!

The second section of the northern mountain road!
Shuan Mountain, Wuming Mountain and Beihehuan Mountain! There are four of the 100 Great Mountains along the entire northern section, namely, Shuan Mountain, Lingming Mountain, Wuming Mountain, and Ganshu Peak. Others that are not included in the 100 Great Mountains include Wuming Mountain West Peak 3225M, Ganshu Mountain South Peak 3157M, Yuanduozhi Mountain 2888M…

Dayuling is the highest point on the Central Cross-Island Highway.
Dayuling is located on the main saddle of the Central Mountain Range of Taiwan, between Hehuan Mountain and Bilu Mountain. It is 2,565 meters above sea level. It is the midpoint of the Central Cross-Island Highway and the boundary between Taichung, Nantou, and Hualien counties.

The Central Cross-Island Route goes east through the Hehuanshan Tunnel and reaches Hualien.
It reminds me of the Southern Cross-Island Route going east through the Guanshanlingshan Tunnel and reaching Taitung! Once you exit the tunnel, the weather often changes suddenly, as if time and space have changed!

This section of the Central Cross-Island Highway at Dayuling is where many young people participate in China Youth Corps activities, where many college students pass by on their island tours, and where many people bring their children to and from Hualien.

Beautiful, quiet, sunny, foggy, and cold, the mountains appear and disappear, which is beyond description. Many people dream of Zhongheng because of this!
