There are many temples in Jiufen, but there seems to be only one faith center, Quanji Hall, in Jinguashi. Quanji Hall is like a local earth temple. Going to worship no matter how big or small it is is a part of daily life.

The century-old “Quanji Hall” is dedicated to Emperor Guan Sheng, the patron saint of the Jinguashi area. During the Japanese colonial period, Japanese people went to the Golden Shrine, while many Chinese went to the Quanji Hall.

There are three treasures in the hall:

First: The largest pure copper statue of Guan Gong in Taiwan.

Second: There are a pair of large stone pillars with national treasure-level flower and bird figures, three-dimensional carvings, on both sides of Guan Gong on the first floor, and are carefully surrounded and protected by acrylic.

Third: The Golden-faced Guan Shengdijun (second floor), which came from Tangshan in the early Republic of China, is the only one in Taiwan.

Going up the stone steps of Quanji Hall, you can see the “Time Signing Mountain” next to the parking lot. Walking along the plank road, you can climb up to admire Teapot Mountain, Yin Yang Sea, and the Thirteenth Floor Ruins. The scenery is beautiful and magnificent. It is a good place to take photos of the entire Jinguashi area. The best thing is that parking is easy, and the car is parked directly in the parking lot. , there are also paths next to the parking lot to visit Jinguashi Fujin Old Street.

If you go to Quanji Hall, try walking to the 2F or 3F. Keelung Mountain is really beautiful from the perspective of the Guan Gong Statue, and it is the beautiful saddle part of the mountain! The photos show it!

Quanji Hall currently has two special festivals

Quanji Hall welcomes Mazu. Mazu’s circumambulation is called “Jinguashi District Welcomes Mazu and prays for blessings around the border.” It is a routine event in the area to welcome Mazu. In previous years, it was hosted in four places in turn. In recent years, it has been unified by Quanji Hall. Host and integrate resource planning activities. Residents who had moved to other places also made an appointment to return to their hometowns and join the procession around the border to pray for safety. The biggest feature of the mountain city circuit is that the many cultural assets that the circuit team passes through!

Besides the prayer activities, the most special one is the Green Grass Festival. Perhaps miners are more likely to suffer from silicosis!

The Jinguashi Green Grass Festival is held on the Dragon Boat Festival on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. It is a unique celebration event in the area. This event has been continued since the beginning of the temple’s construction, and is mostly decided based on the inventory of Baicaodan in the temple. A great event.

First decide which god is going out, and then carry the deity out in a sedan. If there is any available grass on the way, the sedan will be instructed to stop. The believers will follow the instructions to get the grass. It is not an easy process to go out to collect grass all day long.

Baicaodan is made by washing the collected grass, draining it, pounding it, adding Chinese medicinal materials, and kneading it in the sun to get a jar of pills. Most women make the medicine, and most men pound it. In the past, when medical treatment was underdeveloped, people would always come to ask for medicine if they had minor ailments.

The Jinguashi Green Grass Festival has become a unique traditional religious and cultural activity here. No one remembers its origin; but the old miners remember how they relied on Baicao Dan to treat diseases in the past. As time goes by, it is integrated into the culture of Jinguashi!
